Description

The market is down, but donor giving is up? That’s the trend experienced during 2022 at Fidelity Charitable®, an independent public charity and the nation’s largest grant maker. Despite last year’s economic downturn—inflation, rising interest rates, and layoffs—plus a 19% slide in the S&P 500, Fidelity Charitable® distributed nearly $1 billion more in donor-recommended grants to nonprofits than in the year before. That’s a 9% jump in grant funding—fueled by the power of donor advised funds (DAFs).

In this session, Amy Pirozzolo, Head of Marketing at Fidelity Charitable®, will explain how donor-advised funds help sustain philanthropy during times of economic uncertainty and why understanding DAF donors—and how to work with them—is a strategy that every fundraiser should perfect. You’ll learn the basics of donor-advised funds, how and why donors use them, and five ways that your nonprofit can reach DAF donors.

Fidelity Charitable is the brand name for the Fidelity Investments® Charitable Gift Fund, an independent public charity with a donor advised fund program. Various Fidelity companies provide services to Fidelity Charitable. The Fidelity Charitable name and logo, and Fidelity are registered service marks of FMR LLC, used by Fidelity Charitable under license.
