Why Endowment?
Universities and hospitals are famous for having large sustaining endowments and you can too. This session makes the case for why nonprofits need an endowment including your donor motivation and organizational financial stability. This session answers the following questions:
• What is endowment?
• How do you build endowment?
• Who are your donors?

Originally from Charlotte, Kristen transitioned from healthcare to medical fundraising. To be closer to aging family, Kristen and her husband moved to Arizona where she worked with the Arizona Community Foundation as the senior director of planned giving. During that time, she also directed the Arizona Endowment Building Institute program. Last year, Kristen returned to North Carolina where she is the Director of Development for the North Carolina Community Foundation.
