Job Title: Philanthropy Officer
Transitions LifeCare is hiring immediately. As one of the community’s industry leaders, we provide exceptional hospice, and palliative care services throughout our 8-county territory. Transitions LifeCare’s goal is to care for individuals and families with compassion, support, and expertise as they navigate the end of life or life changing illness.
Schedule: This position will work Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm.
Remote Status: Hybrid (in-office and remote work)
Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000

Responsibilities:
Annual Giving Portfolio Management (60% of time):
- Identify and mange a portfolio of 150-200 current donors and prospects for gifts to the 1979 Circle, with emphasis on donors capable of making a special current or deferred gifts.
- Work with Philanthropy team on future prospecting for Annual, Major and Planned Giving, especially families who give through the memorial donation pipeline, the grateful family program, and monthly donors.
- Set weekly and monthly goals to conduct regular meaningful contacts with donors in the portfolio, to include personal visits, phone calls, e-mails, and personal notes.
- Record all contacts in RE/NXT database utilizing the established moves management system.
- Meet with bi-weekly with the VP to report on contacts, identification of new prospects, and those who are no longer prospects with a list of new names to add to the portfolio. Provide regular reports as requested by the VP.
- Assist with conducting weekly stewardship phone calls to current donors, for identification and cultivation for future increased giving. Record contacts in RE database to track in weekly and monthly reports.
Foundation Grant Management (30% of time)
- Coordinate with VP and program teams to research and submit Foundation Grant proposals and grant reports and assist with gathering programmatic narrative and data.
- Under the direction of the VP, conduct interdepartmental meetings with the CEO and other program managers to identify and prioritize project needs and to coordinate, research, and delegate grant preparation assignments.
- Edit draft applications for accuracy, completeness, and clarity, and submit all applications in accordance with grant requirements, as well as all grant reports.
- With support from the Philanthropy Coordinator, manage all aspects of the grant proposal, including tracking grant deadlines, ask amounts, and other details through tracking spreadsheets and in the RE/NXT database.
Administrative Support to Philanthropy Department (10% of time):
- Work as an integral part of the Philanthropy team to support special stewardship and annual giving campaign activities, and other departmental projects throughout the year.
- Attend third party and agency events to support the Philanthropy team as needed.
- Answer calls as needed to promote a helpful and responsive relationship with donors, families, and the public.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree, with a concentration in a related field, Human Services, Psychology, Finance, Nonprofit, etc.
- Minimum of five years of experience working in a nonprofit organization or related corporate environment.
- Demonstrated experience with donor database management software, the Raiser’s Edge/NXT preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and enthusiastically with a diverse constituency, including family members, Board members, individual donors, volunteers, and fellow staff.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to maintain tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
- Close attention to detail and accuracy of information, timeliness on data input.
- Service-oriented mentality and strong customer service skills.
- Must submit and pass all applicable pre-employment and annual tests and meet all training and other applicable state and federal guidelines
