Marketing Manager (P# 20021653)
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking to hire a Marketing Manager with the demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and evaluate marketing content, brand strategies and programs.
The Marketing Manager will provide support for marketing related actions and report directly to the Senior Marketing Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible for the deployment of campaign related marketing activities, both internal and external. These marketing efforts will be directly related to UNC Chapel Hill Schools, Units and campaign initiatives as part of the development communications team.
The Marketing Manager is responsible for providing strategic, forward-thinking marketing planning, content creation and development for For All Kind: the Campaign for Carolina, the University’s largest ever fundraising campaign. Tactics include branding, marketing, public relations, advertising, social media, promotion of events, and print and online communications. The Marketing Manager is charged with implementing marketing and communications strategies as well as planning for select projects and inititatives, while meeting the University’s overarching strategic goals and objectives.
With the support of the Senior Marketing Manager, this position is responsible for the planning, creation and implementation of marketing content for internal campaign inititatives and affinity groups. The Marketing Manager will work directly with development and communications staff across the University to develop campaign communications plans and provide a portfolio of campaign materials. The Marketing Manager will work closely with development directors within the schools and units to define and craft individualized messages appropriate for each individual constituency.
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Qualification and Experience Requirements:
Applicants should have a strong marketing and communications background, be able to synthesize data and information, analyze trends, identify opportunities, draw sound conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations to guide marketing strategy, marketing communications and deliverables, as well as organizational decision-making. A demonstrated knowledge of production and marketing calendars is critical. Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel is required.
A Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred, plus 2 or more years of related experience in non-profit or higher ed. The ability to craft messaging and content strongly preferred. Project management experience is ideal. WordPress knowledge is a plus.
