Essential Job Duties
The Development Specialist’s role is to create and implement short and long-term strategies for innovative and comprehensive donor engagement for donors and friends of the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine and the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Foundation. The position will work closely with the Executive Director of Development and other key advancement personnel to develop language and manage data used for solicitations, stewardship and other areas of engagement. They will work with the development team putting together live and virtual events at the Vet School and around the region, manage the creation and distribution of stewardship reports, be the primary liaison with the University Office of Annual Giving and University Stewardship Office, and collaborate on all other strategic planning for donor and volunteer engagement. The Development Specialist will be the staff liaison helping with NCVMF board meetings, donor meetings on and off campus, and other events related to donor identification, cultivation and stewardship.
This position will work with hospital, college and university personnel managing data needs as they relate to the CVM Hospital database, NCSU’s Advancement Portal, MailChimp, EMDS, and other digital platforms utilized to inform, thank, and solicit donors to the Foundation. The incumbent will work to establish and maintain information as it relates to metrics and trends in giving and create and distribute reports detailing giving activity. They will also manage the the Walk of Honor and Gallop of Honor programs at the College.
This position requires onsite coordination of weekend and evening activities for various events throughout the year.
Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
