Every Member Campaign 2012
Each year, the international AFP Foundation for Philanthropy raises money from AFP members throughout the world to support enhanced programming for members and other activities that advance the fundraising profession and philanthropy. The purpose of the Foundation is to generate the resources to fund AFP strategic initiatives that advance ethical and effective fundraising.
Why Should I Give?
25% of Every Member Campaign (EMC) contributions from AFP Triangle members return to the Chapter as a grant. That’s right, a portion of your gift comes right back to the Triangle, where it helps fund chapter activities for our members.
Your gift to the Every Member Campaign helps provide:
- Scholarship grants that increase access for members to training opportunities
- Education grants and seed funding for AFP education programs like the Faculty Training Academy and education products like AFP’s Ready Reference Series
- Research grants to increase our knowledge and understanding of philanthropy and to enhance the practice of fundraising through studies and reports developed by the AFP Research Council
- Strategic Initiatives such as diversity programs, ethics education and the Fundamentals of Fundraising series developed to meet the real-world needs and challenges nonprofit organizations face everyday
Our 2012 EMC Goal
Success! Through the generosity of our board and members, we succeeded in reaching and exceeding our 2012 Every Member Campaign goal of $6,600. Thanks to everyone who helped us achieve our goal!

* Alpha Society Member. The Alpha Society helps AFP Triangle members plan their EMC giving by establishing a fixed monthly gift. Electronic funds transfer is also secure, efficient and lowers our administrative costs. It’s a real win-win program. To enroll, simply submit the Alpha Society pledge form, sign it, either include the credit card number or enclose a check for the first month’s gift and mail or fax to the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy. Be sure to designate your gift to the AFP Triangle Chapter!

I am every member because….
I have been involved in philanthropy for most of my life, with more than 40 years as a professional fundraiser under my belt. Much of the education and training I’ve received has been through the Association of Fundraising Professionals. In addition to knowledge gained at chapter meetings and varied educational opportunities, I’ve gained insights into best practices by networking with other professionals. Through my involvement with AFP, I continue to learn innovative ideas and receive updated information in areas such as ethics and government regulations. Of all my professional memberships, my membership in AFP is one of the most cherished.
Merriam-Webster defines a member as “one of the individuals composing a group.” I give, and will continue to give, to the Every Member Campaign because I know that each gift I make helps ensure the overall vitality and sustainability of our profession. I am every member because I believe that each of us has a responsibility to pay it forward when able. It is the very foundation of philanthropy. I consider it an honor to help the AFP Foundations for Philanthropy empower more professionals, encourage future fundraisers, and respond more effectively and efficiently to the needs of AFP members.
