Diversity

The AFP-Triangle Chapter is dedicated to creating a more inclusive community in all realms of the fundraising profession grounded in respect and appreciation for individual differences. We define diversity as “the seeking and achieving of a broad representation of experiences, perspectives, opinions and cultures.” The award-winning Diversity Committee endorses a broad definition of diversity, and seeks to provide programs and resources that enhance knowledge and encourage understanding of diversity. The Committee strives to provide leadership for Chapter members in meeting the needs of all its constituencies and special populations.

A lot can brew over a cup of coffee, explaining the popularity of of the Diversity Committee’s Coffee N’ Conversations. Free and open to members and nonmembers alike but come early as space if limited. These monthly gatherings provide a forum in which attendees can engage in both informal and moderated discussions about diversity, learn from knowledgeable experts and speakers, share insights and experiences, and, of course, drink some great coffee at some of the Triangle’s best coffeehouses.

And if that isn’t enough to entice you, sometimes we have pastries, too.

If you are interested in joining the Diversity Committee or would like to receive notifications on upcoming Coffee N’ Conversations, please email chapteradmin@afptriangle.org, or find us on Facebook.

Hosting a Coffee N’ Conversations gathering not only demonstrates your commitment to a more inclusive community, it also gives our 250 members and their respective organizations an opportunity to learn more about you. If you are interested in hosting a Coffee N’ Conversations event, please email chapteradmin@afptriangle.org.
